Caloundra is a suburb located in the southernmost town in Sunshine Coast, South East Queensland, Australia.
It sits 60 miles north of the central business district of Brisbane in the local government area of the Sunshine Coast Region.
Surrounding suburbs include Aroona, Battery Hill, Currimundi, Dicky Beach, Meridan Plains, and Moffat Beach.
It is also bounded by Rainforest Drive and Mooloolah River, Currimundi Creek, Bruce Highway, Beerwah State Forest, Bells Creek, Kings Beach, and Pumicestone Passage.

History of Caloundra
Robert Bulcock, an English Immigrant, purchased 277 acres of land in Caloundra. It was surveyed in 1870 and the land transfer was made in 1883.
In 1917, Robert Bulcock Jr., divided the area into 404 lots, which later known as the Bulcock Beach.
There were 271 residents in the region by 1933.
Surrounded with beaches, Caloundra became the center of the Australian defense during the World War II. US and Australian armed forces mounted machine gun pits and radar stations along the seashore.
The suburb had grown in population in 1950. Industrial developments were also obvious during the year.
Caloundra has over 47, 000 residents on 2011.
